sleepy little fishing town

Beauty in perfection
Beauty in perfection
Krabi is a small town that sees less than an hour a day of mayhem as tourists get off buses and pile onto boats to head for the islands. Not many people stay in krabi for long and its a real pocket of peace from the madness of the bigger cities. There are 100 places to kick back with a book, chill under a tree and watch thai life pass you by with no sign of a western face for days... just be a little adventurous and go find!

Favourite spots:
Hire a motobike for very little and go check out the farm land, peace and serenity away from the pitter patter of tiny tourists. If you need to get in touch with a little western luxury then KR mansions is a grubby but relaxed hotel with everything at your fingertips (even the most intrepid need creature comforts sometime) internet, top films every night and an all you can eat buffet breakfast for 90 Baht.

What's really great:
Krabi travelogue picture
Near to the more luxurious accomodation on railey beach. This is where thailands best rock climbs can be found with enough routes for the beginner to the crazyies to find something of a challenge. Catch a long boat in the morning and after a tough day fighting up the rock, sit back with a beer and watch the sunset before the boat back home

Sights:
wat tham seua, a nice cool spot with caves, woods and daily monk rituals to keep you feeling like you're floating. If you can bare the heat, climb the buddha's steps, take plenty of water though! You can see for miles from the top!

Other recommendations:
Do not go anywhere near the shell cemetry! Not unless you only went to thailand coz butlins skegness (on the east cost of the UK) was fully booked.
