Meenakshi temple (peacock)
Posted: 2006-04-03 05:25 PM
Yes Mari, it is a Hindu temple - The Meenakshi temple at Houston. Built like the famous meenakshi temple at Madurai (India). Part of the complex is still under construction.
best regards

Hello Marianne,

Marielle

Congratulations for the Colva Report winning as best report in march. Going back and seeing all the comments made in the report we all know you are the best! You could have taken MoM too for all the good work and efforts you are putting into getting the guidlines for report writing together.

Hi marianne,
I don't think i have the picture of Sao resort in Maumere. If so I do, mostly it's as a background.
if i happen to find a landscape photo of the resort, i will send it to you.
so, happy travel. and i love each of your report... especially when you write about my country. some i take as a guide, if i'm going.
cheers marianne,

Marianne,
Thanks for reading my report. Cycling was the perfect way to experience this part of the country, and (the four our us) travelled quite a few miles.
Thanks

Re: Ramayana

I apologise once again for the delay in responding - been too busy to even log on to this website.
I really admire your interest/knowledge.
Ramayana is the story of Rama (The prince of ayodhya) who is the representation of "the Ideal person" according to hinduism - he is also the 7th incarnation of Vishnu - as you mentioned. Sita is Rama's wife.
Rama had been exiled for 14 years and the abduction of Sita by Ravana (the "demon" king of Lanka), the search for Sita and fight against Ravana are infact major episodes of this epic.
Shall reply to your email sometime next week (hopefully!)
Best Regards

Gent report
Posted: 2006-03-30 02:52 PM
Marianne, my Gent report is nearly ready. I am having trouble getting all the information to fit into the topics, perhaps I am writing too much.
As it is my first proper report I want to make it a good one. I will hopefully finish it this weekend and press the publish button soon.
I will then start trying out some other things like albums and new destination guides.
Kind Regards
Clive
