I just want to share my idea with you.
sorrily there is one problem with globo,and that is sometimes members are very strict .I bleive we are here to share travel photos :"how a place looks" .
Of course it will be great to take special photos,and sure a person must choose the best photos he has taken for globo,the photo should have something to say...
when i saw that picture david has uploaded i desided to talk about this matter with you.
You know i think that corner picture with flowers is ok, it is nice and shows the place,it is not special but good to see.globo is not a "photo contest" site only,right?
I saw in your page that you also have some pictures of this kind, like that pizza market picture.lets think.. why yousahred it with us?
wasn't it to show a reality about that place ?
then dear freind,
lets be more careful and milder,in criticizing people.

I was just thinking you had not had a go at me for a while!
What I agree with is that not everything should be uploaded. Often I take more than one shot of the same thing or an attempt to capture something fails woefully. Then I either destroy or keep it to myself.
I DO NOT agree that only the best should be submitted, though I know some eminent members agree with you. I don't want to start a discussion of things already ventilated in fora but I do think you might show more tolerance for alternative views. I know some members have never submitted a photo for fear of creating a bitter comment from you.
I should rate the particular photo as 2/3* if somebody else had done it - and I repeat, I don't think that on its own is a sufficient reason for not submitting it. It won't be found by any casual visitors to the site after a day and the ardour of the people of Spello in ceating this sort of display might be of imterest to some members.
So, please, calm down a bit.

So you are one of the extras. We had a look at this year's verona programme, but decided that it was not tempting enough (sounds as if we are very fastedious), so we will go next year.

I enjoyed your latest Italy photos very much. Especially Verona, these props waiting outside are very photogenic. I took a whole series of them last year. Did you go to one of the opera performances?

Rudi, Thanks for your kind word. Symi is an interesting place, but don't go inthe high season, too crowded.

Thank you for the kind message congratulating for my POM. I really am happy to have won this award but saw many other pictures last month which could easily have been considered for it too.

But I have to say, I have not yet been to another "old european" city that had the same feeling as Edinburgh...I guess thats personal opinion though!
