Was in a minivan heading to Phnom Penh from Siem Reap when I decided to leave the bus in the town of Kompong Thom. Another person also got off at this stop so we both headed across the street to Arunas GH. Good place. Kompong Thom is small and doesn't see the volume of visitors like PP & Siem Reap. First night we just explored the town area. The main excitement was at the street market. Everyone was there. Ate at a restaurant below the GH. Food was good there as well as the coffee. That night we were recruited to visit an English class. The kids were great! Next day we hit Sambor Prei Kuk, 7th century ruins and Phnom Suntonk a hilltop temple. Both are nice and deserve a visit. Sambor Prei Kuk is just now having some restoration work starting. Saw no other visitors while there. Take a moto everywhere like elsewhere in Cambodia. Seemed like a safe enough place but obvious massage activity going on all around. The English teacher arranged a local truck for us to take to PP. $2 US
