Headed by bus from KL to Penang. A place I have bypassed before but now was heading there to check it out. Nice bus ride where I met Izad who would take me around Penang. Stayed in Georgetown at Hong Ping Hotel. about $15 a night. Spent the first night walking down to the oceanfront, watching the locals and eating some fried noodles from the street hawkers. The next morning Izad picked me up. We headed around the island hitting some secluded beaches, mountaintop views, fruit farms, waterfalls, his home village, Snake Temple (not many snakes left) and ending the evening with an excellent meal of chicken biyrini. Next moring I caught the ferry to Langkawi island. Penang is a nice place to spend a few days.
