Dec 07, 2025 12:00 AM Sunday on Gwadeloupe
Ufff! A crowd of black-skin citizens of French West Indies boarded the ship yesterday and in the eateries we experience loud conversations, lack of some food and the noise... I escaped the ship already at 10 am. I was afraid that the supermarket where I am always buying my favorite rum will be closed on Sunday morning but not - it was open and I bought 1 liter of 50 pc for just 11 euro - this is what you pay on the ship for one drink! In St Peter and Paul cathedral I attended Sunday mass enjoying fantastic singing of the choir, accompanied by local instruments. Then on the main Victoire Square there were a kind of procession of the people representing parishes of Gwadeloupe in national costumes, with music. Orgy of colors, dances and smiles (each parish wear different colors! They have jazz festival this evening, but we will leave at 6 pm.... Great and lucky day anyway!

Dec 06, 2025 12:00 AM Martinique in colors
It was the morning when we docked in Fort de France on Martinique. Memories, memories... Pretty Creoles wearing madras clothes. Narrow streets of the old town. Tourist info office is still in Victor Hugo street offering free wifi, maps and brochures. It was niceto visit again the lovely cathedral, the market, biblioteque... It is hot and humid, but cloudy and from time to time we experience occasional rain. Martinique is nicer and better organized then Guadeloupe!

Dec 05, 2025 12:00 AM Dominica, not Dominicana!
In the morning we docked in Roseau (pronounce Roso) - the capital of the one of the poorest Caribbean republics. It has not white beaches but high green mountains of volcanic origin, hot springs and waterfalls. Dominica surprised us by... morning rain. Clouds were sliding down from the mountais generating warm rain. Sun, rain, sun - rain again. We disembarked anyway and took a walk through the marrow streets of the capital. There are news here: the catholic St Mary cathedral is finally open! Interior is poor, but they have a place to celebrate Christmas. Then we went to the Botanical Gardens to photograph exotic trees and flowers. Sorry, no excursion to the wet hills to see waterfalls. Public transport do not go there and they wanted 40 USD pp to Jacko Fall and Emerald pool where you can swim. Tomorrow we will be on Martinique...

Dec 04, 2025 12:00 AM Nelson's dockyard in Antigua
Hello from new Caribbean country! In the morning pur ship docked in St John's - the capital of Antigua and Barbuda. The port has a character with many timber houses and and terrible stink. There is not much to see in the capital except restored St John's cathedral. But be ready to pay 5 euro or dollars entry fee already at the gate!
I took my companion by public minibus from West Bus Station to located 22 kms away Nelson dockyard - historic Brit's navy base. Great monument from UNESCO list! Many tourist and many luxury yachts docking now here. Palms, flowers, exhibition and 15 USD entry fee! Free internet! Unfortunately to much clouds and even light rain to go further to Shirley Heights for the view. The fare of minibus full of locals costs only 1,50 USD each way! It os worth to be here...

Dec 03, 2025 12:00 AM St Kitts and Nevis
After a day spent at sea (great Abba show in the evening!) today in the morning we docked in the capital of St Chrostopher and Nevis carribean republic. It is still 29 deg Celsius and sunny weather. We are going for the walking tour around the Basseterre - the capital. I have neen here few times in the past. The island has green mountains and Nevis - sister island on the horizon. Many drivers offer tours to the beaches, US dollar is widely accepted. First free wifi point you will finf in the port gate building - just before entering the street. In the port cafes they will give you password only ifyou order and pay their drinks...
The main historic attraction of St Kitts is Brimstone Fortress built by Brits. I have been there many times but I wanted to show thes place to my companion so we were heading there again. . From Westside bus station wr toon the minibus heading to Sandy Point (4 USD or 9 local dollars to Brimstone junction) then 30 min sweaty walk up the hill. At the first gate in the walls they charge already 15 USD entry fee, no mercy, no discounts! But it is worth: the wievs as far as Statia an Saba islands, green hills around and well preserved walls and cannons. We were lucky to catch the free lift to the Basseterre on n the way back. Great day!

After 5 sea days we docked in Bridgetown Barbados. It is 29 deg Celsius and very high humidity. I have been here many times. The landscape of the capital is getting better and better. Yesterday they celebrated National Day. Today is Monday but they still celebrate! The streets are empty few local people walking. I serve as a guide for my companion. Tomorrow we have another sea day on the way to St Kitts Island. I have here great time while in Europe is already frosty winter... There are 3 cruise ships in the port. The wifi network is weak because so many users. But go the the Gold Park in the city centre to connect without yhe password :)

Nov 25, 2025 12:00 AM Ponta Delgada - Azores
After 3 days in the little choppy Atlantic Ocean the warmth and sun was waiting fo us in Ponta Delgada - the capital on the archipelago. I have been here in 2011 last time. It is nice to refresh memories. Yemperature is like in the Polish summer, blue sky and the strong sun. Next 5 days we will be sailing the ocean to Barbados. I found the new friends on the ship and the shows in the ship's theatre are excellent!

This is our last port in the continental Europe. Passengers from France are embarking our ship. Next stop will ne after 3 days on the Archipelago of Azores. The morning was sunny in Le Havre but when I decided to go ashore at 10 am I experienced wind and light rain. Better to wait. I was on Le Havre earlier this yoar but the weather eas also cloudy. Everybody on the ship wants sunny and warm weather, but we have to wait at least few days. I didn't pay for the internet package on the ship, so do not expect messages during nest thtee days of sailing.

Nov 20, 2025 12:00 AM Southampton to London
Sea was a bit rough in the night. Time one hour back. We woke up before sunrise, went for beakfast to self service restaurant and then to the long line to the casino where ships officers and British immigration officers controlled once sgain all people going ashore. The line was all ship long and we wasted again a lot of time. Newer more to British ports, British brothers! Fortunately Southampton Central station was not far (30 min walk) from Myflower Dock where we were docking. But Filxbus stop at the station was not easy to find! It is on port side of the station but no sign! Bus to London arrived 10 mon after the schedule. Sunny morning. 4 deg C. the drive to London will take us almost 3 hours. We stopped on the way at Heathrow airport. Once in London we disembarked at Flixbus station at Victoria station - entry to the garage is from Elisabeth Bridge.
It was nice to see London again after years! We took a long walk heading to Chelsea Bridge then along Thames to Westminster Abbey, taking souvenir pictures with Big Ben from the bridge. Then to Buckingham Palace and to Victoria Station to take return bus at 3 pm. It was not raining and this was a great day!

Nov 19, 2025 12:00 AM From Gdansk to Nederlands
I am lucky - no frost in the night! At 5.30 I was already in the airport ready for low-cost flight to Eindhoven. No nee to remove ice from the plane. We started almost on time and landed in Nederlands before the schedule. It is cold and dark here. I took a bus 400 to the station. It goes every 10 minutes and costs 5.30 euro for 25 minutes trip. I bought ticket in the machine pn the platform - card only, no cash Once at the station I found the Flixbus stop opposite the bowling monument. Oooops! The bus to Rotterdam will be delayed 45 minutes....
