May 12, 2023 12:00 AM Spring in Wojtkowka
Lovely, sunny spring came to Gdansk. I am working every day in my Wojtkowka enjoying flowers around and meeting first travellers - some of them are helping me to spray vegetable beds with water because at least since one week we did not have here any rain. Cherry trees are already in blossom - see the picture! Wojtkowka is open again for the travellers from all over the world!

May 05, 2023 12:00 AM Landing in Savona
At the sunrise our ship carefully entered little port of Savona. Blue sky, lovely breakfast with a view of the green hills on the coast. At 9 am I was ready to disembark after thanking and saying warm goodbye to my cabin steward and brilliant waiter Raydante. Both of them are from the Philippines... With carry-on baggage only there was no need to wait for the baggage (when thousand plus passengers is disembarking it is a problem) Then O took a walk across Savona town to the station. Ticket to the nearest airport in Genova costs 4,90 euro and the ride took me 45 minutes.
In Genova my short, low-cost plane to Naples was on time. From Naples I have direct Ryanair flight to my Gdansk, where I will be landing aroung 7 pm - very convenient and inexpensive connection. Another lovely voyage is coming to the end!

May 04, 2023 12:00 AM Marseille -Marsylia in blue
We reached Marseille today at 7 am. Lovely weather! Blue sky, blue water in the bay. And as much as 5 big cruise ships in the port! The ship offers shuttle bus to the centre of the city for 13 euro RT. They will not tell you that from the port gate there is free port bus to the Jolliette Square. So I took the walk and skip extra expense. Last time when I have been here the weather was cold and windy. Today - just wonderful weather to walk the boulevards to the well lnown places like Old Port with the fishermen selling fish. But I discovered also mew place: monumental stairs climbing from old city to the gare St Charles. The main vity landmark is the Basilica of Notre Dame de la Garde on the 150-m hill overlooking the city and port. I was climbing to those ornate church third time - it is worth

May 03, 2023 12:00 AM Plaza Catalunya...
Lovely, sunny day on Barcelona. The guys from the ship pffer the shuttle bus from the port to the city center for 13 euro RT but I know well my way and it will be great walk through Europa Bridge to the Columbus Column and then all over the way along the busy Rambla Avenue, full of strolling tourists to the central Plaza Catalunya. Unfortunately the fountains on the plaza do not work today. But the square is full of pigeons and you can have for just 2 euro picture with a white-painted lady... It is nice to refresh here my old memories of Barcelona... 5 kms walk there and 5 kms return. Not a bad score!

May 02, 2023 12:00 AM Day at sea...
To the next port - Barcelona we have to sail more than 500 nautical miles so it will be the full day at sea today! Sunny weather, suitable for sunbathing - but I am spending on the dack only 2 hours per day - I do not want to suffer! :) There are different activities on the ship from the dance school, dofferent trivia, sport matches, lectures but I always waif for the evening show in the theater - today we had a quartet of the musical songers. They were really great! Later I was dancing with a Brasilian lady...

May 01, 2023 12:00 AM Already in the Europe - Malaga
When we passed Gibraltar at 9 am there was thick fogg. Gibraltar rock was not visible at all! In the fogg we were sailing all over the way to Malaga. My friends Sveta, Oleg and their daughter Paulina were waiting for me at the exit from the port. They live here since 3 years. I met them once on the cruise ship. We spent together few lovely hours enjoying the streets and parks of old Malaga. The weather was already excellent in the afternoon allowing to appreciate the jacaranda thees - all in violet flowers. Finally we took the bus 35 to the ruins of the Arab castle Gibralfaro. A great panorama of the port and city opens there. Thank you dear friends for your invitation and company.
:) Welcome to Gdansk!

Apr 29, 2023 12:00 AM Santa Cruz de Tenerife
After six days in the Atlantic Ocean today at the sunrise I saw again the land: Tenerife Island. For the cruise ships crossing the ocean Tenerife is like the lighthouse announcing the proximity of Europe... Just after the sunrise we entered the cramp port to meet another ship of the same company: Costa Diadema. I have been here many times but it is always nice to stroll along the waterfront promenade, enjoying the sun and lovely temperature of 22 deg. Celsius. Finally we have European news on TV! The temperature in Malaga, where we are heading is abnormal: 36 deg. Are we going back to the tropics?

Apr 23, 2023 12:00 AM My nameday at sea
Most of the people in my country still celebrate the day of their saint patron. Today is my nameday - for the first time celebrated in the ocean! Philippino waiters from the ship's restaurants came with the best wishes and a bottle of champagne... Nice gesture! At 7.30 pm we crossed the equator, but the Neptune will come only tomorrow to baptize the newbees! In the evening we had nice music performance in the theater... Unfortunately I did not meet on the ship any other passenger from Poland...

Apr 22, 2023 12:00 AM Fartaleza: skyscraperrs and beaches...
We reached today the biggest town of the poor Brazilian Nordeste. The capital of the province is surprisely nice and bright with long beaches, flowers and palmtrees. But all of us received to the cabins warning letter: the area surrounding the port is not safe! Well... once out of the ship I took free shuttle bus to the passenger terminal (nice. but wifi very weak!) Here another shuttle was waiting taking passengers for 12 euro to the central market and back. Expensive! It is distance only 6 kms! I signed rather for red duble decker offering sightseeing of the city with 1,5 hour stop at the Mercado Central. 12 USD and explanation also in English. We were going along the beaches, central streets, parking eventually near cathedral, opposite the old fortress ("fortaleza") occupied now by army
Very hot and intetesting day! Since tomorrow we start Atlantic crossing. Next message after 5 days from Tenerife. Be patient! :)

After two days of sailing in the blue Atlantic with the temperatures over 30 deg. And high humidity we dosked today in Salvador, Bahia state. I have been here already few times. The city is famous for its bright colonial architecture and Afro-Brazilian folklore. Is will ba a great day! The old city is located just steps from cruise terminal! It was very hot, but also very colorful day. There is no otherr city like Salvador, Bahia in Brazil!
